5-steps-to-discipleship

We have created five steps to guide a person from salvation to maturity in Christ. Our goal is that everyone would become a fully devoted follower of Christ. It is our hope and prayer that you will use the discipleship offerings and this process below to help you become all that Christ intends you to be.

Step One
Central 101

This is a four-week class taught by the Senior Pastor with talks and discussion on “What It Means To Be A Christian,” What It Means To Join The Church,” What It Means To Be A United Methodist,” and “What It Means To Be A Member of Central.”

Step Two
Alpha 1 & 2

Alpha 1 & 2 are two six-week classes designed to teach basic Christian beliefs and practices. The classes are designed around talks given by members of the church on topics such as prayer, how to read the Bible, the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, etc.

Step Three
Sunday School /
Small Groups

Central has 13 different Sunday School classes for adults and several short term small group experiences. These classes and small groups run the spectrum in ages, format and social make-up. These classes and groups not only create lasting bonds and friendships, but they also provide settings for focused spiritual growth and Biblical understanding. They ultimately hold us accountable to continue our spiritual journey and give each one a place to connect.

Step Four
Ministry

There are nearly a hundred different places to serve in the Central Church family or in a ministry in the community through our church. Our “Every Member in Ministry” campaign gives everyone opportunity to sign up for ministries each fall.

Step Five
Sharing the
Good News

Once we have been discipled, it becomes our responsibility to disciple other or share the Good News of God’s love with others. There are opportunities to teach others in the Sunday School program (children, youth & adults) or in our women’s or men’s ministry or in some of the Bible studies both at the church and in the community and in children’s and youth ministry programs. We can also share the Good News by participating in mission trips or mission projects.
